Providing the platform for a more open, honest and robust dialogue between business and cities was at the heart of the Alliance.
In its first two years of operations, the Alliance and its Partners carried out global comparative research to look at how the public and private sectors work together in over 25 global cities around the world, exploring models and best practice as well as looking at how this engagement could be improved. This work provided a great opportunity for our Partners, who are leading international employers, to engage with city representatives in many of the world’s leading global cities, fostering an environment for open dialogue.
A synthesis of the findings and case studies, developed with the support of our Editorial Board of experts, was published and presented at the Global Cities Symposium in London on 21 June 2016.
The focus on city–business interaction continued to be integral to the Alliance, informing and underpinning other projects.
